More fin work and painting
I decided to sand-blast the fins; this would make it easier to paint them because the paint sticks more easily. However, I discovered that sandblasting makes anodizing difficult.
I painted the fins in our attic because it was safe from the elements and offered good ventilation. Here is a fin with its first coat of paint.
All the fins have been painted. I decided to paint my recently purchased Microsoft Sidewinder x8 mouse to match my concept: red, green, blue to match the LEDs. Because the mouse has red LEDs, I only painted the thumb and game buttons red.
The finish on the mouse really exceeded my expectations. One of the tedious things about painting is that you have to wait for the paint to dry between coats. At some point, I got so bored that I let my creativity run wild and I painted my headphones, too.
